ITALIANS APOLOGISE

BOMBING OF PRISONER SHIP

LONDON, Monday: The 'Daily Mail' correspondent at Mersin (Turkey) says that after the bombing of the British ship Talma, en route from Port Said with Italian prisoners for exchange. Italian officers apologised through interpreters to the Scotch-Australian skipper, H. M. Macdonald, on behalf of the airmen responsible. Skipper Macdonald accepted the apologies. She Swiss Red Cross is investigating the conditions at the Bari transit camp, where 2000 men are alleged to be half-starved.
