1920 May 4th - Launched.
   
" July 21st - Completed as Surada for the British India Steam Navigation Company.
   
1929 July 13th - Suffered a fire in the coal cargo in her No.2 hold which her crew was able to control but she put in to Mormugao to unload it before resuming her voyage.
   
1940 March - Requisitioned under the Liner Division.
 


1944 January 26th - On her way from Calcutta and Colombo to Aden and Suez with general cargo and stores, she was torpedoed by U188 65km (40 miles) north-east of Socotra (13°00’N-55°15’E). Although the ship
sank in only five minutes, all 87 crew, nine gunners and seven passengers got away safely in the boats and were landed at Aden.
