April - One of her last duties under the British India Steam Navigation Company flag was to load famine-relief cargoes for India in Australia and New Zealand. During this voyage her milk powder cargo loaded
at Auckland in record time by Air Force gangs during the waterfront strike of that year. |

January 29th - Sold for £120,000 to Wheelock, Marden & Co Ltd, Hong Kong, who resold her immediately to the Taihei Kisen KK, Kobe, who renamed her Taihei Maru. |
